FairGrowth Salutes Dr. Gridlock

One of Fairfax County's most notable residents, the "Washington Post's" Ron Schaffer, better known as Dr. Gridlock, has helped ordinary people all over the Washington region cope with ever-worsening traffic and transit problems for 20 years.  FairGrowth was saddened to learn that Dr. Gridlock is taking early retirement.  His last column will appear June 25.  The community at large is losing a not only a great information resource, but also an insightful and effective advocate.

Dr. Gridlock has been forthright about the traffic and transit problems in Fairfax County, and the effects of development that is not balanced with infrastructure capacity.  Accordingly, Fairfax Citizens for Responsible Growth, Inc. wished to express our deepest gratitude and respect to Dr. Gridlock for all of his years of serving the community through responsible and effective journalism.  It is FairGrowth's sincere hope that he will continue to be actively engaged as he focuses his considerable talents and dedication in new directions.  He has our very best wishes, and our deep gratitude.
